We have a service every Sunday morning. It starts at 11:30am and everyone is welcome to join us, whether you have been a Christian for a long time or would like to come and find out more about Jesus Christ.
Who attends Avoch Congregational Church?
People of all ages and stages in life; young, old, men, women and children. We come from the village and further afield too, from all life situations, work experiences and backgrounds.
What can I expect?
Firstly, we hope, a warm welcome.
We hear the Bible preached. Every week we have a message that helps us understand the Bible. Typically, we work through a book of the Bible systematically; that way we leave nothing out!
We sing together. We have a glorious God and we sing to praise Him for who He is and what He has done for us in Jesus Christ.
We also pray together. We pray because we need God’s help to understand that our lives are to be lived for His glory in Christ. Prayer helps us rightly acknowledge that we are powerless in ourselves and that to live as believers in Christ requires help from God.
What if I have children with me?
We all start together at 11:30am. We enjoy singing, praying and learning about Jesus from the Bible together. Then our young people leave us to learn more about Jesus in Sunday school. Sunday school is for children in nursery and primary school. We also have crèche facilities. Sunday School aims to help our children learn more about Jesus from the Bible in creative and age-appropriate ways. We also have all-age family services from time to time.
